Chief Executive Officer

Time Choices Inc.

Wishart Smith is a proud U.S. Army Veteran, Certified Peer Recovery Advocate, and New York Certified Peer Specialist whose leadership is rooted in lived experience, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to serving fellow veterans and First responders. As Chief Executive Officer of Time Choices Inc., Mr. Smith brings a firsthand understanding of military culture, trauma recovery, and the transformative power of intentional peer support in restoring dignity, stability, and hope.

Driven by both his personal recovery journey and military service, Mr. Smith has dedicated more than a decade to supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges and long-term recovery. Since 2018, he has served in volunteer peer leadership roles with the Department of Veterans Affairs (Brooklyn and New York campuses), where he has facilitated individual and group peer sessions, mentored veterans, connected peers to essential community resources, and championed trauma-informed practices grounded in accountability and compassion.

In addition, Mr. Smith volunteers with Park Slope Veterans Outreach, modeling recovery-oriented leadership, supporting community engagement initiatives, and assisting veterans in successfully reintegrating into civilian life. His work emphasizes confidentiality, professional boundaries, ethical peer engagement, resilience, and self-determination—core principles that guide his leadership philosophy.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith held operational and safety-focused roles with the Department of Veterans Affairs, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and multiple transportation service organizations. These experiences strengthened his expertise in regulatory compliance, OSHA adherence, safety management, and service-delivery systems—foundational competencies he now applies to executive leadership and organizational development.

Mr. Smith holds certifications as a Certified Peer Recovery Advocate (2025), Mental Health First Aid for Older Adults (2024), and New York Certified Peer Specialist (Provisional, 2022). Under his leadership, Time Choices Inc. is building a structured, trauma-informed respite and recovery model designed specifically to support veterans, First responders, and their families.

With deep passion shaped by military service and lived recovery experience, Mr. Smith leads Time Choices Inc. with integrity, empathy, and mission-driven focus—creating safe, restorative environments where healing, accountability, and community connection are not only possible, but sustainable.

A peaceful respite bedroom prepared for mental health recovery, showcasing a neatly made twin bed with a soft heather-gray cotton duvet, a folded navy throw at the foot, and a single supportive pillow in a clean white case. Beside it stands a simple birch nightstand with a small digital clock, a glass of water, and a dimmable amber-glass lamp. The walls are painted a soothing muted sage, with a framed landscape photograph hanging above the bed. Warm, diffused evening light from the lamp creates a cocoon-like atmosphere. Captured in photographic realism from a slightly elevated corner angle, the composition emphasizes order, cleanliness, and a sense of temporary, dignified sanctuary.
